Exciting Power Boat Racing Is Coming Back To Red River

It's been a while since Shreveport/Bossier was treated to the thrills and adrenaline rush fans receive while attending a drag boat race, but that will soon change.

Trying to remember the last time the Red River hosted an event like this, my research took me back a full six years to September 2018 when the Powerboat Nationals were held on Red River, so this month's "Red River Rumble" will give powerboat fans a much needed dose of speed!

In an article from powerboatracing.com, we see that Dustin Hayes, Marketing Director for the Red River Waterway Commission says, “The Commission is excited to announce its participation in the F1 Powerboat Championship Series in 2024! Our primary objective is to promote the economic and recreational development of the Waterway.”

“Events like this, held in conjunction with Mudbug Madness, help raise awareness and showcase the recreational opportunities available along the Waterway. We highly value our ongoing partnership with the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and eagerly anticipate future collaborations as we serve the people of Caddo-Bossier and the surrounding areas encompassing the Red River Waterway District.”

Hopping onto the website of the Shreveport/Bossier Sports Commission we learn that the Red River Rumble will take place Memorial Day weekend, Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26 and will coincide with the Mudbug Madness Festival at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport.

On the Facebook events page for Red River Rumble, we see the full schedule for the many events which includes the Kickoff Street Party with the chance to meet all the drivers and each day's starting times for all the racing on Red River.  Take a look below.
