Calling all archers! The Bossier Civic Center will be in the crosshairs between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, February 22, when more than 200 youth from Louisiana and Arkansas shoot for the bulls-eye and bragging rights.

Archery has reached new heights in popularity, not just in Bossier Parish Schools but across the nation. That interest will be on display when Benton Elementary and Bossier Schools play host to the Bossier Shootout, a youth archery tournament.

There is no entry fee for archers to participate. Admission for the public is $5. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.

Only Genesis bows may be used. Participants are not only from school archery teams, but also area 4-H programs and home-school groups.

Trophies will be awarded for both team and individual winners.
The first flight will begin at 8:30 a.m. with each flight lasting approximately an hour and a half.

The final flight is at noon and will be followed by an awards ceremony.

Come see the action and prepare to be in awe by these young archers, who are anxiously anticipating the Bossier Shootout.
