Okay fishermen and boaters, keep your fingers crossed.  Maybe, just maybe, we're getting closer to being able to once again use the boat launch on the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway in Bossier City.

Last year's floods coupled with more high water in the last few months have reeked havoc on most boat ramps along the Red River and even though officials re-opened scores of the public ramps, the floods just caused too much damage to the launch on the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway and it's re-opening has been delayed.  However, workers are feverishly trying to get things back to normal.

The Red River Waterway Commission has contractors moving an enormous amount of sand and dirt from the ramp and dock area that has accumulated from high waters on the Red.

Commission officials anticipate the boat launch will re-open in the next week or so, as the work and river level allows, but have given no definite date.

Deputies with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol continue to keep safety a priority on the Red and all waterways in Bossier Parish.

Take a look at this video of all the work being done filmed by Deputy Allen Smith of the Bossier Sheriff's Department.
