Two Vivian Men Killed In Devastating Shreveport Car Wreck
While most people in the Arklatex were preparing for Sunday morning church services, two Vivian men were killed in a two-vehicle automobile accident in North Shreveport.
In a report from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, we learn that this accident occurred on North Market Street at its intersection with Northport Boulevard early Sunday morning.
The accident report shows that driver Richard Whatley Jr., 53, and his nephew Chris Whatley Jr., 28, were mortally injured in the crash that occurred just before 8:30 a.m. The older Whatley was pronounced deceased at the scene at 8:39 am, white the younger victim succumbed to his injuries in the Ochsner LSU Health emergency room at 9:03 am.

Deputies report that an SUV traveling northbound crossed the center lane and hit another car waiting to turn at the traffic light from the southbound lane.
Both victims were in the SUV. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's office. Autopsies were ordered for both victims.
