This movie was good enough to win the Oscar for Best Picture in 1970 and then be re-released in 1980.  Jon Voight plays a country boy in the city and gets into some shady business with his new city friend played by Dustin Hoffman. Ultimately, it's a story about friendship.

Another instant classic in my opinion. You got John Travolta before he was weird, Debra Winger at her country sexiest, Mickey Gilley and the Charlie Daniels Band. If you're from the south, you've seen this and you already know.

What kind of list would this have been without a John Wayne movie. Of all the cowboy movies "the Duke" was in, this is the only one with "cowboy" in the title. Spoiler Alert: This movie may be best known for Bruce Dern's character shooting John Wayne in the back. It's a must see if you love westerns.

The thing I love about this movie, is that it doesn't take itself too seriously! Get ready to see Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig (otherwise known as James Bond 007,) and Olivia Wilde team up with some Indians to battle some aliens who want to destroy the earth! This movie is two hours of fun.
