Here is a great event happening this morning in Bossier to help our babies. Is there anything more valuable than a child?  And if that child suffers from diabetes or any other disease, isn't our obligation to do everything in our power to rid them of the pain and problems?  What if all you needed to do was take a walk and your effort could be all that was needed to restore a smile to that angelic face?  Well, if you were waiting on an invitation, your wait is over!

We're hoping you'll join the hundreds of other walkers representing local corporations, families, schools, and other organizations for the 4th Annual North Louisiana Craig Floyd Memorial JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes today.  The event is a 1.5 mile walk that starts and ends at Party Central (4401 Viking Loop) in Bossier City along with entertainment, food provided by Piccadilly, refreshments, games, and activities for the kids including face-painting, electronic games, and more.  Registration for the event, which begins at Party Central, is at 8:00 am, and the Walk begins at 9:00 am.  The JDRF branch’s goal is to raise more than $137,000 in support of JDRF’s mission which is to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes through the support of research.  Entire families from kids to grandparents enjoy participating in the Walk to Cure Diabetes-even if they are not among the millions of Americans with a personal connection to diabetes.  A wonderful time is had by all in support of such an admirable goal.  The event’s organizers are proud to once again honor the memory of Craig Floyd, longtime advocate, champion volunteer, and former Board President for the North Louisiana branch who passed away in 2008.  The event is a tribute to his hard work, commitment, and dedication to JDRF’s mission.  More information about this year’s Walk to Cure Diabetes can be found at JDRF.org or by emailing northlouisiana@jdrf.org or by calling 1-866-932-9511.
