I watch Julie K. write with the wrong hand every morning and sometimes it amazes me that I'm able to actually read what she wrote.  Yep, she's left handed and I'm constantly in awe of how someone can hold a pen in the same hand that I can't even hold a fork with.

Just incredible.  But, I have noticed there are a number of problems being left handed that a lot of us have never even considered.  Everyone knows of the regular problems that southpaws have.  Their hand smears the ink as they write, it's harder to find scissors and golf clubs that work, and people believe they're pure evil.

But here are a few problems that the 90% of us who use the "right" hand never really consider.

1.  When you write with a pen that screws together in the middle, it slowly unscrews . . . because you're gradually turning it left, which loosens it.

2.  Driving a stick shift.

3.  Writing on a spiral notebook or three-ring binder hurts because your hand is stuck on the spiral . . . unless you turn the notebook upside-down.  Also, it's virtually impossible to write on a dry-erase board without erasing as you go.

4.  The opening in pants and boxers is designed to favor people who use their right hand.

5.  There are some guns that aren't meant to be shot left-handed . . . so when you do, the casings fly into your face.
