The Gingerbread House Needs Our Help!
The Gingerbread House is an amazing community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works alongside with local law enforcement, child protective services and the District Attorney's offices to investigate and prosecute child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse cases. According to the Gingerbread House 1 out of 10 children will be the victim of sexual assault before their 18th birthday. The Gingerbread House's mission is to lessen the trauma experienced by children and provide support for the children. The Gingerbread House needs our help with basic supplies that they use on the daily. The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 4570 Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport is accepting donations for The Gingerbread House Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 2:p.m. up until September 27, 2018.
Diane Wilson the coordinator of the fundraiser for The Gingerbread House said
"Our focus should be the children. We worry about politics and what the President is doing or not doing. We worry about the new shoes that we just have to have and we don't worry about the children who are in need of our help right here in our community. What about the children?"
