I recently took a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. It was wonderful. My husband and I stopped on the way just past Memphis and ate at a little spot where his mother took him to eat years ago when he was just a little boy and that we had even taken our children too when they were younger. It was a great little trip down memory lane and we made lots of new wonderful memories.

I just had one little problem with the trip. I had done my research. I checked out some great places to go and made sure that we hit all the usual spots in Nashville. So, what was the problem?

I found a great place, or so I thought, to go buy a pair of boots for my daughter as her 17th birthday present. We made time to go and were pretty excited because the website touted the place as "the famous Nashville boot store that was Boot Store by day and Honky Tonk by night." Sounds really cool right? I was thinking this will be great. We can hear some authentic Nashville music, maybe do a little two stepping and pick up a pair of Nashville cowgirl boots all at one time!

Well turned out the joke was on me. The place did have authentic Nashville live music and it was a Honky Tonk/bar and grill, and they did have boots lined up on two rows down the side of the wall behind the bar BUT none of them were for sale!

So is this a running  joke for silly people like me? Either way I really enjoyed the fried bologna sandwich the cook/bartender made for me. And I couldn't help but laugh at the idea that the Boot Store/Honky Tonk was nothing but a bunch of BOLOGNA!!!
