A woman in northeast Dallas, TX admits that she shot and killed her husband during an argument about beating the family's pet cat.

47-year-old Mary Harrison is accused of fatally shooting her husband Saturday morning, June 2, 2018 and is being held in Lew Sterrett Justice Center in lieu of $100,000 bail facing a murder charge.

She is accused of killing her 49-year-old husband, Dexter Harrison, who was pronounced dead at Presbyterian Hospital.

The shooting took place just before 7am Saturday morning at the couple's home. When police arrived, Mary Harrison admitted to the crime, waiving her rights and voluntarily speaking to detectives. According to neighbors, the Harrison's had recently moved to the area with their two teenage sons. After moving to the area, their cat went missing for a brief time but was found. The argument that precipitated the shooting was allegedly over Dexter, the shooting victim, beating the family's pet cat.
