When the news that Louisiana would not be conducting its time-honored and well-received "Tax-Free Weekend,"  it sent a wave of disappointment through the thousands of folks across the state looking to save a few bucks - especially those shopping for back to school.  With many looking to save where they can, a few stores have opted to run "tax-fee" sales.  These retailers don't have the power to waive the taxes, but are instead discounting purchases by the amount the tax would be.  The latest store to jump into this game is Burlington.

KFLY reports that the retail giant announced yesterday it would cover the 3% sales tax in all of its Louisiana stores August 3rd and 4th.  In total, that's 7 stores - including the Shreveport location at Barksdale Highway and Jewella Road.

FYI, Louisiana will not have a tax-free weekend again for at least 7 years.
