graduation

It's Graduation Season and Wedding Season all at the same time.  It's the time of year my finances get in worse shape than the day after Christmas.  I've been blessed in that my 30 year radio career has mostly been right here in my home town and because of it, the Good Lord has put loads of great friends in my life and lots of acquaintances.

This week many high school seniors will be walking across the stage to receive their diplomas in Kiss Country. Whether you’re graduating from Calvary Baptist, North Caddo or Airline, we know there will be many questions regarding your future. So we and some celebrities, including Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton, are here to help.

Life is about to change for the high school students who are graduating. They will leave the familiar classroom and  step out into the real world. One day in the future they will realize that school days were the best days of their lives.

For 16 years now, Haughton High School has conducted a special event the night of graduation for all seniors entitled "Graduation Celebration." The evening, chaperoned by scores of parents, provides graduates a safe environment for the night.  Drug free and alcohol free, the event provides loads of games, activities, music and most every attendant will receive some great gifts.   Read Mo

Although he was run over by a car at 14-months-old and paralyzed from the waist down, Patrick Ivison didn’t let his disability stop him. In fact, the California native learned how to kayak, ski, play rugby and even surf. And now he has one more amazing feat to add to his accomplishments after managing to walk during his high school graduation on Tuesday.

Scotty McCreery has a lot of new titles to his name. He’s an ‘American Idol’ champion, a platinum-selling country artist and a CMT Music Award-winner, as of last night. But he hasn’t been able to call himself a high school graduate until today.

A small group of seniors at Cascade High School in Clayton, IN celebrated their upcoming graduation with a prank, covering school doors, offices and windows with more than 12,000 colorful Post-It notes. But the school superintendent apparently didn’t think it was so funny — he suspended almost 60 students, and a janitor accused of helping during the prank could lose her job.
