Shreveport Zombie Walk

Yes, you have a chance to dress up like a Zombie and stroll down the streets of Downtown Shreveport. And when people look at you like you are crazy (trust me, they will) all you have to do is tell them you are a Zombie and you are helping the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank. Zombies are funny, hungry people are not. Once they realize that you are a do-gooder, they will take you for the serious Zombie that you are.

The 4th Annual Shreveport Zombie Walk is on World Zombie Day, which is Saturday, October 8, 2011. It will be at from 4 - 6 PM, in Downtown Shreveport. The location is McNeil Street, between Texas and Milam, right next to the Courthouse. The 300 block of McNeil Street will be closed off for this event. There will be live music, vendors, door prizes, costume prizes, and tons of Zombie fun!

The Shreveport Zombie Walk is an excellent way to wrap up an exciting week in our town. Zombies stroll the very last day of the Red River Revel

Word on the street is that Robinson Film Center may even be having a Zombie themed film for the event. And if you are a all night Zombie party animal, the official Zombie Walk after party is at Mojo's.

I love the fact that there will be "Zombie Crowd Control" performed by the Twin City Knockers. These rough, tough, pretty ladies will be skating alongside the Zombies to ensure that no innocent bystanders become Zombie prey.

Most important, is the cause: Northwest Louisiana Food Bank.

The Zombie Walk is a fun way to help out our community. Honestly, more people pay attention when it is fun or weird or in this case a bit of both. At the Shreveport Zombie Walk, the only thing asked is that attendees to bring  non-perishable food to donate to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. In 2010, the Zombie Walk collected almost 800 lbs. of food! Anyone who brings food to donate will receive tickets for door prize drawings at the walk.
