The latest in a long series of Coronavirus-related shutdowns is the Overton-Brooks VA hospital in Shreveport.  This ever-growing list of closures and diversions set in place by officials aiming to stem the spread of this heinous virus has now added one of the country's oldest veteran's hospitals to it's ranks.

On Friday, a patient at the hospital tested positive for the COVID 19 virus (commonly referred to as the Coronavirus).  Officials wasted no time in shutting down the entire facility - as of yesterday, it is off limits to visitors until further notice.

The ArkLaTex Homepage reports that the only exception allowed are visitors for patients who are in the hospital for "palliative and end-of-life care."  Those patients will be allowed 1 visitor per day.

The hospital is asking everyone that has an appointment to come alone, and anyone seeking care at the facility that may be experiencing symptoms like fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath to call 800-644-8370 before attempting to show up.
