It's that time again. The Shreveport Mudbugs are back on home ice this weekend!

It's like Christmas in September. Sure, we're all excited about football being back, but the real treat for Shreveporters arrives this weekend as your Shreveport Mudbugs make their triumphant return to George's Pond for yet another action-packed NAHL season.

The Mudbugs typically play 25-30 home games per season, and looking at this years schedule, the home games won't really start coming in droves until the back-half of the season. Naturally, this is a good thing to limit competition with high school football and LSU football.

Having said that, until December, we'll only be treated to two home games a month, so it's imperative that we #PackThePond for our first two home games. It will be about a month before our next chance to do so after this weekend.

For their first home series, the Mudbugs will be taking on a team in it's inaugural season. The New Mexico Ice Wolves will get a raucous welcome into the league, having to travel to Shreveport to play in the arena that generally leads the league in attendance and overall rowdiness. Welcome to the NAHL, and welcome to George's Pond.
