Who is ACT and How Many Jobs Will They Bring?

On Thursday, Hunter Croft, ACT President and CEO, announced that his company is investing $1.5 million to build a new customer care center in Shreveport, a project that, when complete, that will bring 600 new jobs to the Shreveport and Bossier City area.

The center is could open as early as March. Hiring will begin in February.

In addition, Louisiana Economic Development projects that the call center will result in 314 indirect jobs, making a total of more than 900 as a result of the ACT expansion.

Where in Shreveport Will They Locate?

According to a number of sources, ACT's call center will be located in Shreveport's East Ridge Plaza business center. ACT plans to renovate the Bert Kouns site, including equipment, infrastructure and a larger parking lot.

Why Did ACT Choose Shreveport?

According to The Advocate, "The state provided an incentive package that includes up to $500,000 for workforce training services and $500,000 for infrastructure expenditures and to subsidize lease expenses. ACT is expected to utilize the Enterprise Zone program. The city of Shreveport and the Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board are negotiating a performance-based grant with ACT to support the new jobs."

Where are They From and What Do They Do?

Advanced Call Center Technologies is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to an ACT release, they "provide multi-channel customer service support, fraud, and dispute management, claim processing and other services to a variety of clients, including those in the financial industry."

The company was established in 1997 and currently employs more than 10,000 in the United States and overseas.
