Shreveport has had a boom of growth in the past several years and huge changes will be easily seen next year! Thanks to new jobs, people moving in and upgrades to downtown Shreveport is going to feel like a new city.

1. Downtown Grocery Store

Any booming downtown area needs grocery stores and Shreveport is set to get one that has a modern twist. This new upscale store will have fresh produce, milk, cheese, craft beer and meats as well as a deli for on the go eating.

2. Downtown Apartments

Downtown Shreveport will see the most changes in 2017 and it's spotlighted with new market priced apartments. New living spaces around Texas st and Marshall st will be coming to the old Commercial Bank building and the condos in construction on Marshall Street.

3. New Art

From new murals to performances you'll see an increase in culture around the Shreveport area in 2017! Shreveport Common, an arts district sanctioned by the Unified Development Code and downtown's monthly art walk events, public art will flourish.

4. More Jobs

Additional things to do and places to live only mean so much but New Jobs will make it all possible and that's exactly what Shreveport will be getting in 2017! Tech jobs will continue to thrive like in recent years but with the revival of Texas st and the new restaurants you'll see a huge need in the service industry

5. More Outside Dining/Bars

An ordinance is expected to pass in 2017 allowing restaurants and bars to serve alcohol outside. This would lead to not only more outside bars and an increase in nightlife spots but also an increase in possible street events!
