Shreveport firefighters were on hand this afternoon after a report of a worker trapped inside a silo at U.S. Lime Company.

Crews arrived at the business in the 6000 block of St. Vincent Avenue just after 3 p.m. The trapped worker was able to communicate with firefighters and was brought out through a bottom opening on the silo.

The ordeal lasted about 15 minutes. The worker wasn't injured and required no medical care.

According to the company's website, U.S. Lime is served by a railroad to provide lime storage, hydrating, slurrying and distribution capacity to service markets in Louisiana and east Texas.
