Did You Know Shreveport Has Two National Ball Hockey Teams?

What in the world is a ball hockey team and did you know that Shreveport has not one, but two teams?

With the advent of so many new sports, at least new to me sports like Pickleball, when I saw that Shreveport had two National Ball Hockey League teams, one called the Shreveport Ragin' Gators and one called the Red River Rougarou, I was intrigued. After all, ice hockey does really well here in our area, just look at the success of the Shreveport Mudbugs. So, I had to look up ball hockey to find out what it was. It's not field hockey if that's what you're wondering. They call it off ice variant of hockey or hockey on foot.

Further sleuthing found that the Red River Hockey Club is behind our two recognized teams and they offer the sport for both youth and adults. They say all you need to play is a willingness to sweat and have a good time. Sounds like a great workout to me! Red River has both recreational and competitive teams, so if you're looking for something new, you might want to check them out. I even found some all-female teams on the NBHL site.
