With whitetail archery season beginning next Saturday, October 1, then Youth season starting October 8 and gun season slated for October 29, you might find yourself in need of attending a Hunter Education Course to obtain your Louisiana hunting license.

In Louisiana, persons born on or after September 1, 1969, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Course in order to hunt in the state of Louisiana.

If you need to squeeze that in as soon as possible, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website, there are several classes slated in the coming weeks here in the immediate area.

Here's a quick look at some of those classes:

Friday, October 7 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm AND Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Ringgold High School Cafeteria

Monday, October 10 AND Tuesday, October 11 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm both nights at the LDWF Office on Highway 80 near Minden

Monday through Wednesday, November 14 to November 16 from 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm each night at the LDWF Office on Highway 80 near Minden

Hunters can also take the Official Louisiana Hunter Safety Course Online HERE but must still complete an official LDWF sanctioned "Field Day."
