Yesterday, at my routine pregnancy checkup, the doctor mentioned that we may have our baby around December 19th. "December 19th sounds like a good day to have a baby", she said. That is the moment it occurred to me--THIS THING HAS TO COME OUT ONE DAY!! O-M-G. I have been trying to NOT think about the exit strategy, and I really didn't think we would be talking details so soon, I still have 13 weeks left!

My official due date is December 24th, rough timing. Poor thing is going to spend the rest of her life receiving combination Christmas/Birthday gifts--the last thing I want to do is rush her out. But, with modern medicine, it is very easy to schedule the day you wish to deliver.

I am not known for my organizational skills or my need to live by schedules thank the Lord. With no super strict schedule to worry about, I'm really okay waiting for her to get here when she is ready, as long as she doesn't hang on for 10 months, that might do me in.

Should I jump on the induction wagon to ensure we are all home for the Holidays? This may also increase my chances of my doctor being the person who actually delivers my baby. Or do I wait for nature to takes it course (Which has been my plan all along--but, is that an unrealistic plan? I have been known to stick to my guns on a few decisions that in the end, just didn't matter.)

This is one of those moments I hope to gain perspective from you, our motherly "been there, done that, have the t-shirt" listeners.

How was the birthing process for you?

Were you induced?

What do you wish you had done differently?

What is your advice for me?
