To describe Rob Bolden’s collegiate career as a quarterback as a roller coaster is an understatement.

After a stressful offseason for all of those involved at Penn State, could Bolden find a home in Death Valley?

As of just a few minutes ago, quarterback Rob Bolden’s name, stats, and photo has been scrapped from the Penn State football roster on their website. It’s also known that Bolden has already been released from his scholarship at the university, following the penalties laid down on Penn State by the NCAA.

As of this past weekend, it’s been reported that Bolden has been visiting with the front office staff from the LSU Tigers about changing his address from Central Pennsylvania to Central Louisiana.

For the record, this is not the first time rumors of transferring and Rob Bolden’s name have been in the same sentence. Bolden, who’s now in his junior year, previously considered transferring after his freshman year.

Just to give a backstory on Bolden: he was previously the starting quarterback for the Nittany Lions in his first two seasons. But, he didn’t do so hot. His freshman year he threw for 1,360 yards, five touchdowns, and seven interceptions. His stats lowered the very next season with Bolden throwing for 685 yards, eight touchdowns, and five interceptions, only completing 39 percent of his passes.

Long before Penn State got punished, he was slated as the third quarterback option in spring practices.

Would Rob Bolden be a good option behind Zach Mettenberger this season?
