It’s a tough day for those of us living in North Bossier. As a resident myself, I know the struggle all too well. Our options for truly "good eats" can feel pretty limited compared to the rest of the city.

For the last few years, one of my absolute solid picks has been grabbing a massive burger from Papa & Co. I always loved the fact that we had such an iconic Shreveport staple right here on Airline Drive, saving us the trip across the bridge when that burger craving hit.

However, a sad announcement from the big burger maker has several Benton and Bossier residents feeling pretty bummed out this week. Papa & Co. officially shared that they are closing their doors on the Bossier side of the Red River.

In a heartfelt message to their fans, the owners stated:

"To our north Bossier patrons, we are closing our Airline Drive location after lunch on Sunday, April 26th. While we are a little sad, the staff and we, as owners, feel like we had a good 4-year run in the neighborhood. We had a lot of fun and made some great friends while we were at it, so we're moving forward happily and with no regrets."

It’s always bittersweet to see a local favorite leave, especially one that brought so much flavor to our side of town. The team expressed deep gratitude for the regulars and new guests they had the privilege to serve over the last four years. While it’s the end of an era for Airline Drive, the good news is that they aren't gone for good.

If you’re like me and can’t imagine life without those legendary burgers, you can still find them at their original home.

They are welcoming everyone to visit the Shreveport location at 545 East Washington for lunch, Monday through Saturday. It might be a slightly longer drive for us North Bossier folks now, but for a Papa & Co. burger? It’s always worth the trip.
