So, first they gave us new TV's...and now it's at the point where a kid sees an old monitor or tv that's not a flat screen, they wonder why there is a box there. But SOON...sooner than you think... the light bulbs we all know and love are going to be a thing of the past.

Starting January 1st, the old Thomas Edison style light bulbs will be a part of history. All stores will be phasing them out, but they are expected to be on the shelves until probably June. First, they are going to phase out the 100 watt bulb. That's happening on January 1, 2012. Then, 75 watt on January 1, 2013. Finally, January 1, 2014, the 60 and 75 watt bulbs will be no more.

George W. Bush signed a bill in 2007 that put in efforts to replace the bulbs with bulbs that use 25% less energy. And as of January 1st...100 watt bulbs can't be manufactured or imported.

For some reason, this makes me kinda sad. lol
