As of 7pm Wednesday evening, it would be safe to say that nearly all schools in Northwest Louisiana will not be open Thursday.  Caddo Parish has additionally canceled classes for Friday.  First Baptist School and LSU-S has also canceled classes for both Thursday and Friday.

All three schools in the Shreveport Catholic Diocese will be closed tomorrow -- same for Bossier Parish, Desoto Parish, Webster Parish, Bienville  Parish, and Claiborne Parish public schools -- Bossier Parish Community College -- and Northwest Louisiana Technical College's Mansfield Campus.  Sonja Bailes of Bossier Parish Schools stated "Bossier Schools has been keeping a close watch on Hurricane Isaac and based on the latest information received from the National Weather Service, classes will be canceled Thursday, August 30, 2012.  Based on the forecast models predicting Isaac to take a westward turn, Bossier Schools Superintendent D.C. Machen felt it best to err on the side of caution to keep our students and employees safe.  We will continue to evaluate and assess the situation as conditions progress and make a determination Thursday afternoon whether school will remain closed Friday or if classes can resume."

More closings, cancellations and postponements are likely, so please continue to check MyKissCountry93.7.com and tune in to Turner & McCoy in the morning for further updates.
