Road conditions throughout north Louisiana remain perilous at best this morning.

Yesterday's sunshine, though the temperature never topped the freezing point, did bring on some thawing, but certain areas are still hazardous.

One of those is LA 175 in DeSoto Parish. In a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that LA 175 from LA 5 to LA 3015, south of the Kingston community, is completely closed due to winter weather conditions and stalled vehicles blocking the roadway.

DOTD will issue a notice when the roadway has been reopened.

Additionally, I-20 in both the east and westbound directions, has been hit hard and many motorists still report hazardous conditions from Simsboro to near Ruston. Others complain that the problems persist further east from Choudrant to near Calhoun.

DOTD crews have also been working 24 hours a day to keep roadways clear, and to remove ice/snow in order to reopen any closed roads as quickly as possible.
