But how often can a person reflect on that School Counselor who made that same impact? It's not that they aren't worthy of that memory, it's just that many don't have enough interaction with their students to have that lasting impact.

That's certainly not the case with Nicole "Ms." Addison, a counselor at Haughton Middle School.

She's been such a positive influence for so many of her students that one of the parents, Jordan Chreene, had to take some time to tell us about her.

His letter was so moving and so indicative of the kind of woman that Nicole is and just how invaluable she is to the Haughton community, she was an incredibly easy selection as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught Act Award.

I know in today’s times there are some really good people that are constantly doing good things for others that seek absolutely no recognition. Nicole fits this to a T. She is just naturally a good person that always puts her self last and makes sure she accommodates for everyone else. Nicole to us, but, she is known to the majority in this community as Ms. Addison. Ms. Addison is a counselor at Haughton Middle School. I met Ms. Addison a little over two years ago at my then future step son’s soccer practice. I didn’t know her from Eve as I’m an immigrant to the Haughton area. I noticed all of the kids were coming up to her and they were all smiling and all of them gave her a hug. I asked Keli my wife now, Who is that lady. Since meeting her becoming a family friend of the Addison’s, She is the same on and off the court. Ms. Addison has a heart of gold, hurts when her kids “school kids” hurt and no matter who you are she has the words to lift you up. She is the voice to kids in her position in the school system. I recently enrolled my daughter into the Haughton Middle School. Addi comes home everyday telling us about Ms. Addison and how she checks her grades at school with her every morning and emphasizes to her push her mind to the max to achieve greatness. If more educators took a personal approach with students at all of the schools there’s no doubt in my mind that it would help save a troubled education system. Nicole we love you and we thank you for everything you do for us, the school and community!! Love the Chreene’s!!

Nicole Addison, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner.

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Nicole to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
