New Scam Targets Bossier Churches

The Bossier Sheriff's Office told KSLA there's a new scam that is targeting local churches in Bossier City. Many have received an email from "A church in Houston" asking for money to be wired to them with contacts and where to send the money included. Church officials say everything looked legit about the requests except for the fact that the email said please do not call email only.

The name on the requests is Ben Anthony but it's believed that that name is more than likely a fake name. Anthony asks for around $20,000 in his requests but luckily so far it appears no local churches have fallen for the scam.

Bossier Sheriff Department says if you think you might be victim of a scam that you should immediately contact the FBI or call the Bossier Sheriff’s Office at (318) 965-2203.
