Need Help With Your Swepco Bill?
You don't need some moron telling you we've had an absolutely brutal summer. But... with very little rain, and several days this summer over 100 degrees, it's been hard to deal with for a lot of people. And getting the bills paid, especially rising water and power costs, a lot of people are getting squeezed by the end of the month.
But Swepco is offering ways to help during a difficult time. Swepco is readying a new plan to help those having difficulty getting bills paid. SWEPCO plans to announce a plan to waive late fees, waive the addition of deposits on existing accounts and allow for relaxed payment agreements, spokesman Michael Corbin, External Affairs Manager for Swepco recently told KEEL News. He said there are things people can do to help lower their higher than usual power bills.
Look at your thermostat... if you can safely bump it up a degree or two and not affect your health, that would help. Also, close curtains during the hottest part of the day to reduce direct sunlight into the home...
Swepco encourages customers who are struggling to reach out to work together to be able to find a solution. Another great option Swepco offers is the average monthly billing plan. (AMP) With Average Monthly Billing, Swepco averages out payments throughout the year that allows for seasonal spikes in usage. Bills adjust over a 12 month rolling average, making your bill around the same amount each month, which makes it much easier to plan your budget.
Another option might be the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP. This provides federally funded assistance to families who qualify to help manage energy costs.
