Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival to Feature Gumbo Cookoff

Whether your secret ingredients include mounds of shrimp and crab meat or it's link sausage and spicy chicken, your gumbo recipe could be the winning ticket for the Gumbo Cookoff at this year's Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival!

For 33 years now, the festival celebrates Louisiana’s music and showcases Louisiana foods and crafts.  And nothing says "Louisiana Food" better than Gumbo.  The Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival will be held July 20 and 21, with the Gumbo Cookoff on July 20 at Northwestern State University's Prather Coliseum.  Registration is free and will begin at 9am with a Cooks Meeting at 9:30am.  Cooking begins at 9:45am and must be done with propane gas.  For all the rules, other info and a registration form just go to louisianafolklife.nsula.edu
