Most LA SWEPCO Customers Will See Lower Bills for 3 Months
If you are tired of getting an outrageous electric bills in the summer, get ready for a little bit of relief. According to KTBS, SWEPCO and CLECO customers will be getting lower bills just in time for the peak AC season.
Thanks to new federal tax guidelines, SWEPCO’s 231,000 customers Louisiana will see an average reduction of $13.62 on their August, September and October electric bills. From November through July 2020, that reduction will be around $3.
In total, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is responsible for $24.4 million in reductions for SWEPCO customers in the Bayou State. The cuts aren't exclusive to SWEPCO - CLECO, Entergy, CenterPoint Energy Arkla, and Atmos Energy customers will also see the credits to their accounts over the next 12 months.
Just check your bill for the “TCJA Refund” item.
