Many families all around Louisiana will begin the New Year still searching for a missing child. In some of these cases, the person has been missing for decades. But authorities still need help finding the children who are still missing and the adults who disappeared years ago when they were children.

In most of these cases, there is little or no media attention. It's left up to the families to try to find their loved ones. They often run into dead-ends. But they don't give up. Take a close look at all of these photos and see if you can shed any light on these cases. You never know what tip might be the one that answers prayers.

How Big Is the Problem of Missing Children?

The FBI Crime Center reports a child goes missing or abducted in the United States every 40 seconds. The National Center for Missing or Exploited Children (NCMEC) says nearly 800,000 children are reported missing each year. That is about 2,000 every day.
