Caught In The Act - MEGAN MARTIN
loading...

Starting as a 4-H volunteer parent, Megan's commitment to the children of her parish was witnessed by so many, that it ultimately became her career.

In Megan's nomination letter from Kim Bennett, we learned of how this incredible lady has positively impacted so many young lives and that made her an easy selection for this week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I met Meagan as volunteer parent. I was a volunteer parent for Bienville parish 4-H and she was one for Lincoln parish 4-H. She was a teacher in Union parish. We became fast friends because we were at a lot of the same events. Little did I know that one day soon she would become the 4-H agent for Bienville parish. Which was absolutely amazing. She makes a connection with all the kids, they all love her. She has such a strong connection with the kids that a lot of them say Ms Megan you can’t go anywhere till I graduate. She pushes them in a good way. As a volunteer parent at one time( when my kids was in 4-H) I never heard a child back talk or anything when she is pushing them to do their best. She will help anyone that needs help, and she loves them all. You know the old saying it takes a village to raise kids. I can promise you that she is in so many villages in Bienville parish. Megan helped guide my kid on her journey to become a chef and now she is a pastry chef at the Greenbrier in West Virginia. If a kid wants to do something that they have never done she will say ok let’s do it. 4-h motto is “To make the best better”. Megan has a passion to help and teacher even though it may not be in a traditional classroom she is doing it with the kids in Bienville parish.

Megan Martin, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Megan to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
