Matt Thomas, the front man/lead singer for Parmalee spent some time with us this morning and from the sounds of it, he's just a regular guy.  In fact, while we did the interview, he was putting the finishing touches on his truck (A Chevy, thank you) having just washed it and readying to "clean the rims."

The band, named after Parmele, NC, hometown to Matt and his brother Scott, will be in town Saturday night for our 2nd Annual Kiss Country Fest also featuring Sara Evans and local favorites, Black Water Bride.

As we all prepare for the guys to storm the stage Saturday night, we had to ask about the overall sound of Parmalee, and Matt answered, "We're just a bunch of country boys that started a band.  We're influenced by everything." He laughingly replied, "we heard we were referred to as "Matchbox Country."  In regards to those influences, he even tells us that at one point they "wrote some songs with Nikki Sixx of Motely Crue."

And when it comes to dedication, the guys were so dead set on making it in Nashville, they would actually spend about a month at a time living in an RV in a parking lot near the Comfort Inn.  It was in this RV that Parmalee's future almost ended before it even had the chance to begin as Matt and Scott were robbed at gunpoint and Scott was shot 3 times, landing him in the hospital for 35 days.

However, it was this horrible event, which ultimately gave the guys the big break they needed with all the publicity they received during Scott's recuperation.

These guys are fantastic and we're incredibly lucky to have them!  Take a listen to the full interview and see for yourself!
