Melissa Bradshaw-Sagona is one of those parents. Her life, and the life of her son, were changed for the better because they encountered Mark in his capacity at Donnie Bickham.

He's the type of man who understands that the needs of students are all unique to them individually and no matter what's going on in his life, he puts those students' needs first.

Just look at the nomination letter we received from Melissa and you'll understand just how easy it was to name Mark this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

I'm writing to tell you about Mark Kapera and what an amazing teacher, husband, dad, friend, and just all around great human being he is. You see, Mark has dedicated his life to teaching middle schoolers for the last 11 years, most of which have been in Blanchard. We met Mark in 2019 when my son was his student as a 6th grader. After many struggles and unanswered questions that same school year, JC was diagnosed with Autism. As a single mother, I had many questions, fears, and concerns. I remember Mark telling me just to breathe and take it one day at a time and he would get the accommodations he needed. This was the beginning of our journey with Mark and I'm so thankful! This is one of the many things we love about Mark. Anyone that truly knows him knows that he puts everyone else first. Whether he's giving a student that extra boost to succeed, at the ball field with Millie, watching his favorite ballerina Addie, on the lake with his twins, or finishing his "honey do" list for his beautiful wife Brandi. You see, Mark is in the middle of kicking cancers butt for the SECOND time in the last four years. Not once have I heard him complain or feel sorry for himself. He will tell anyone who will listen that laying around feeling sorry for yourself gets you NOWHERE! Please Gary and Bristol consider our friend, Mark Kapera, for this week's caught in the act award.

Mark Kapera, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Mark to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
