One Of Shreveport’s Busiest Intersections To Be Closed Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning, motorists in south Shreveport are going to be in for a sizable detour that could require lots of advanced planning.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has issued an advance notice advising all travelers that tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, the intersection of LA 1 (Youree Drive) and Regal Drive in Shreveport, Caddo Parish will be closed.

This closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 8:30 am until 12:00 pm, and is necessary to activate the permanent traffic signals related to the recently constructed intersection realignment project at this location.

Law enforcement will be present to conduct traffic control operations.

As with all work conducted by the DOTD, this will of course be done weather permitting. Looking at the forecast from the Weather Channel, it would appear that weather will present no problems during this time period tomorrow.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
