Louisiana Welcome Center on I-20 in Greenwood Back Open after Temporarily Closing Because of Water Issue
UPDATE:
Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser tells KEEL News the facility reopened this morning after repairs to the water system were completed.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Louisiana Welcome Center on I-20 in Greenwood is closed to travelers.
We caught up with the Lt. Governor's Office to find out if this is budget related and this is the response we got:
"This closure is not budget related. There was a serious leak in the water supply to the Welcome Center at Greenwood on I-20. Crews are currently working on this repair, and it is excepted to re-open Wednesday or Thursday at the latest."
Cones are blocking the entrance to the complex and motorists are not even allowed to pull off the freeway to stop.
