Okay kids, we're about to cast one of the most important ballots in our lives.  This Saturday, March 5 we'll decide which two candidates, Republican and Democratic, who Louisiana would like to see head to the Presidential election this Fall.

According to the Louisiana Secretary of State's website:

The primary purpose of this statewide election is for voters of the major parties (Democratic & Republican) to express their preference for a person to be the nominee of the party for President of the United States and to elect members to their state central committee and parish executive committees.

Couple of things you might need to know about this one.  First off, if you're unaware of where you go to cast your vote, go to this Voter Portal.

And secondly, this is only for declared Republican or Democratic voters.  If you're undeclared for either of these parties, or you've declared to another party, you can sit this one out.  Additionally, voters will be unable to cross party lines to cast their vote.  Meaning, if you're a declared Democratic party member, you can only vote on the Democratic candidates.  Same rules apply to declared Republican party voters.

Now here's a list of the front runners who will be on the ballot according to ballotpedia.org:

Democratic Candidates

  • Hillary Clinton
  • Bernie Sanders

Republican Candidates

  • Donald Trump
  • Marco Rubio
  • Ted Cruz
  • John Kasich
  • Ben Carson
