
Only in Louisiana: The 10 Worst Things About Winter in the Bayou State
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the first significant freeze of the season is headed to the Arklatex this Sunday night into Monday morning.

The Weather Channel's 10-day forecast indicates that the Shreveport area will drop to around 34 both Monday and Tuesday mornings. Not quite freezing, but you don't have to get very far north of Shreveport to see those sub-freezing temps heading our way.
While it's great news for all of us deer hunters, there are plenty of people around here that will have a bone to pick with Old Man Winter.

Speaking of winter, the first day doesn't come for a full six weeks on December 21, but considering the forecast for the first part of next week, it would be hard to prove that winter hasn't already arrived.
And while I do enjoy the cold weather for deer hunting purposes, that's the only thing I like about it, and I have determined I'm certainly not alone in my disdain for winter.
I love watching all the Alaskan shows on The History Channel. "Life Below Zero", "The Last Alaskans", "Mountain Men", yeah, they've got me hooked. And while I think I'd love to live a primitive, "off grid" lifestyle, I can only marvel at those who do it in the temperatures these people endure. Not this boy! Nope! If it gets below 70, I'm looking for a jacket.
Contrary to those who would say, "you can put more clothes on, but there's laws against taking too many off," I can tolerate 100 degrees way better than 50 degrees.
