The #1 Dog Breed Louisiana Residents Are Searching for Right Now

It's no secret that Louisiana folks love their dogs. It could even be argued that Louisiana people love dogs more than most people.

But for those who might have never made the step towards pet ownership, there might be the question of what type dog is best for their family.

While I remain a believer that it's always best to rescue a dog, regardless of its breed, new research indicates that there are certain breeds that are more attractive to people than others.

Research Determines Which Dog Breeds People Are Most Interested In

In this new study, conducted by targeted canine supplement providers Pup Labs, Google data searches were analyzed to determine which dog breeds Americans are searching most often.  And the overall winner was the Golden Retriever.

Golden Retrievers were the most searched breed in 49 of 50 states.  They are searched across the country an average of more than one million times each month. The only state where they did not secure the top position was in Utah, where Bernese Mountain Dogs lead, with 10,160 monthly searches.

What Dog Breeds Are Most Searched In Louisiana

Considering Golden Retrievers' obvious, overall attraction throughout the country, it's no surprise this research indicates them Louisiana's favorite breed.  They are Googled by Louisiana residents an average of 10,716 every month.

Following the Golden Retriever, here in the Bayou State, Australian Shepherds are second with 8,902 searches.  Third place belongs to the French Bulldog, with 8,430 searches. Next is the German Shepherd, with 8,264 searches and the Belgian Malinois, with 7,613 searches.

Shocking to many was that Labrador Retrievers, often cited as America's most popular breed, ranked only 27th with 239,332 monthly searches. Beagles came in at 59th place with just 140,915 monthly searches.
