And from the looks of the weather forecast, it's going to get much colder, with wind chill factors possibly dipping to the single digits tonight.

So, how do Louisiana people deal with this type of Arctic blast? The same way we handle things like hurricanes. We throw a party and try to laugh away the pain.

Course, we can't say we weren't warned about this thermometer plummeting Arctic front. The forecasters gave us plenty of advance warning (they actually got it right this time), so we have had plenty of time for all the serious stuff like wrapping the water pipes, protecting the outside plants, and making sure we bought all the toilet paper at Dollar General.

There's really no need for that last one, but the pandemic taught us all that any time things are going to be "less than optimal", the first thing you do is stock up on toilet paper.

That means it's time to put on a big pot of gumbo or chili, throw a little party, and laugh our way back to warmer weather!
