A corporate change is impacting the Walmart stores in Shreveport. Several of the stores are no longer open during those overnight hours.

Only 2 area Walmarts still have 24/7 operations. The Walmart on East Bert Kouns and the Bossier City Walmart will remain open all hours.
The Pines Road Walmart made the change several months ago. Now we have learned the Shreve City Walmart is also closed during the graveyard shift.

A spokesman from Walmart says the company is changing the hours at dozens of stores across the nation. These stores will no longer be open from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

A company executive says the change was made to make sure employees are working when and where they are needed the most. The retail giants stats show most customers shop between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The company is not eliminating jobs. Instead workers hours are being adjusted.
