In an announcement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, we learn that in an effort to improve an approximate two-mile section of LA 160 in the western part of Webster Parish, construction is slated to begin this coming Monday, March 3, 2025.

This $1.7 million construction project on LA 160 extends from Bodcau Creek along the Webster/Bossier Parish Line for two miles to US 371 in Cotton Valley.

Beginning this Monday, March 3, drivers will see the initial phase of the construction with the closure of the southbound right lane of LA 160 at its intersection with US 371.

The work will include the milling and removal of the old asphalt and then the overlaying with new asphalt to improve the travel experience and lengthen the service life of the roadway.

DOTD says this work is expected to be completed early this summer, but during the course of work, drivers should expect frequent delays due to intermittent lane closures and remind drivers to always approach the construction area with caution, drive slowly, and eliminate all driving distractions.

All work will be done "weather permitting" so any inclement weather could delay, extend, or alter the scheduled work days/hours of the project.
