Shreve’s Kendrick Law Decides Where He Will Play College Football
Boo, hiss. That's what I have to say today about the decision by Shreveport football star Kendrick Law to head east to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
As a die-hard LSU Tiger fan, I was really hoping he would stay closer to home and play in Death Valley for the Tigers. But he announced his decision today to sign a letter of intent to play for Nick Saban and the reigning SEC champs.
I really can't fault him too much. Alabama is a powerhouse football program. There is no question about that. Law had several opportunities. He also had scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Florida State, LSU, Texas and Arkansas.
CBS Sports reports he is listed as the No. 87 overall prospect by 247Sports Composite rankings. He's 5-foot-11 and 195-pounds. He's a versatile athlete that can play at running back, wide receiver, safety or cornerback. He played high school ball for the Captain Shreve Gators.
Gabe Brooks of 247Sports provided this scouting report on Law:
Adequate height with good bulk and an athletic build. Put together like a running back or safety with capability to play receiver or multiple spots in the defensive back seven. Shows excellent stop-start ability and burst out of redirection. Displays impressive concentration, body control, and adjustment ability at wideout.
Kendrick did make several official visits before making his decision. He stopped in at Texas, Florida State, LSU and Alabama. He's also been visited at school by several big time coaches including Saban and new LSU coach Brian Kelly.
