Mardi Gras has descended on all of Louisiana and once again this year, the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier will take part in all of the purple, green and gold festivities with the 3rd annual King Cake Classic 5K / 10K / & Fun Run on Saturday, February 9th at 8:00 am!

The King Cake Classic provides a festive and active way to celebrate Mardi Gras. Race routes will begin and end at Red River Brewing Company and will take runners through historic downtown Shreveport.

Runners will enjoy the Mardi Gras celebration at the finish line with a slice of Lowder King Cake, Red River Brewing Beer, Race Day Mardi Gras beads, live music by Shreveport Second Line Brass Band, there's a kid's area and much more. They'll also have food available for purchase from Fat Calf Boucherie. This is a family friendly event, all ages welcome. Costumes are welcomed and encouraged!

There will cash and other prizes given to race winners, as well as other categories including "best float" (most festive stroller).

All proceeds from the event will benefit community projects within The Junior League of ShreveportBossier, Inc. - an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
