Child Support Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew ordered the name of a 7-month old boy's be changed, saying the religious name was earned by one person and "that one person is Jesus Christ."

The child's parents had ended up in court because they couldn't agree on his last name. When judge Lu Ann Ballew heard the first name they had given him she ordered that it be changed, saying, "It could put him at odds with a lot of people and at this point he has had no choice in what his name is.'

The judge said the baby was to be named Martin DeShawn McCullough, which includes both parents' last name. This was her first time changing a first name.

Jaleesa Martin, mother of the boy, said she will appeal because Messiah is unique name and she likes the way it sounds with the boy's two siblings -- Micah and Mason.
Martin said. "Everybody believes what they want so I think I should be able to name my child what I want to name him, not someone else."
