A new report has recently been released, including information from the FBI, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and several other agencies, ranking the most dangerous states in America.
Unfortunately, Louisiana not only lands in the top 5, but actually takes the number 2 spot on the list.

According to brobible.com, a new report has been released ranking the most and least dangerous states in America.
To compile the report, data was analyzed from the FBI Crime Data Explorer, U.S. Fire Administration, Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Department of Transportation, NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information and other agencies.
24 key metrics were used including "murders, rapes, assaults, overdoses, firefighters per capita, fire casualties, suicides, fatal crashes, drunk driver prevalence, workplace deaths, infant mortality, violent crime, property crime, registered sex offenders" according to brobible.com.
Louisiana has historically had high crime rates compared to other U.S. states, particularly in terms of violent crime.
While exact figures vary year by year, the state has often ranked among the highest in the nation for both violent and property crimes.
