The Old Dripp Donuts Building at 421 Market Street Has Been at the Center of a Serious Shreveport Controversy for Several Months Now.

What was once a thriving business in Downtown Shreveport serving some of the most incredible donuts suddenly closed. When they first closed it was just a closing until everything got sorted out. Shortly after that it turned into a huge mess.

Dripp Donuts announced to the community that they were forced to close its doors because there were some serious concerns over the structure of the building.

Shreveport DDA didn't stay quiet about the situation they took to their Facebook page to address Dripp's sudden closure. "By now, many of you are aware of the structural issues with the Dripp Donuts building at 421 Market St. The Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation is working diligently to determine the repairs / stabilization solutions required. They hope to have answers very soon."

The Latest Announcement From the Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation Has Several in the Community Saddened.

According to the Shreveport Times, the DSDC2 reported on Friday, May 3rd, that the building will come down. The building is set to be demolished on Sunday May 5th. We still dont know if traffic will be affected in downtown.

Several Downtown residents woke up to the sound of heavy machinery and it looks like the preparation work has started.

What Breaks Our Heart Even More is That Shreveport History is Being Torn Down.

According to Twin Blends Photography the building that once housed Dripp Donuts is a 152 year old building.
