Tragic Domestic Dispute Ends in Fatal Shooting on Thurgood Circle

The Shreveport Police Department has launched an investigation following a violent domestic incident that left one man dead and a woman injured on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a call in the 4300 block of Thurgood Circle, where they discovered a 26-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A woman was also found at the residence with a gunshot wound to her leg; she was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Forced Entry Leads to Deadly Gunfire

According to preliminary findings, the confrontation began when the woman’s former boyfriend arrived at the home shortly after her current romantic partner had come over. Witnesses told investigators that the ex-boyfriend attempted to force his way inside by kicking in the front door.

Once inside, the intruder reportedly began searching the residence for the other man. A confrontation quickly ensued, during which the man already inside the home fired multiple shots at the intruder. The woman was struck during the exchange, which detectives currently believe was unintentional.

Investigation Ongoing as Authorities Interview Key Parties

Shreveport Police detectives have identified everyone involved in the shooting and are currently conducting detailed interviews. As of now, no formal charges have been filed.
