Three Arrested by Shreveport Police on Multiple Gun Charges

SHREVEPORT, LA-   Shreveport police arrest three for gun charges following brief chase

On March 28, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., detectives from the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Abatement Team conducted a targeted operation in the 6800 block of Raspberry Lane. The operation, aimed at addressing ongoing concerns regarding armed suspects in the area, resulted in the apprehension of three individuals.

Upon approaching a vehicle suspected to be carrying multiple armed suspects, officers were met with an attempt to flee. Despite the suspects' efforts to evade capture, they were apprehended with the assistance of a Shreveport Police K-9 following brief foot pursuits.

The individuals apprehended have been identified as 18-year-old John Pouncy, along with two juveniles aged 15 and 16, all of whom were found to be armed at the time of arrest. Additionally, two of the weapons recovered were reported stolen.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle in which the suspects were traveling had recently been reported stolen from Huntington High School.

John Pouncy, along with the two juveniles, now faces multiple charges, including but not limited to possession of firearms by juveniles, possession of stolen firearms, obstruction of justice, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.
